Health Protection

The health protection function of public health aims to protect Southampton's population from serious threats to health such as infectious diseases, environmental health hazards / contamination and extreme weather conditions. Vaccination programmes, cancer and non-cancer screening for disease and preparation for emergencies and resilience response are all part of effective health protection.
